About the Role
The Senior Commercial Insurance Marketer, Broker is a critical role in this insurance brokerage’s national transportation division. They see marketing as an extension of the consulting practice. You sit at the intersection of supporting internal sales & service teams as well as directly engaging with clients and markets. They want an entrepreneurial spirit and a solutions driven approach from an insurance professional experienced with large account pricing, plan design, underwriting, and placement.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Spearhead new business marketing efforts for large. complex trucking accounts. Possess knowledge of appropriate insurance coverage and structures as well as different processes at insurance company partners.
- Evaluate claims data, loss trends, pricing, and coverage enhancements to compose the best possible, most comprehensive, and competitive insurance program for clients based on their unique risks.
- Set timelines on taking opportunities to market. Manage the quoting process. Keep all lines of communication open with the sales team on anticipated negotiations with underwriters as well as creative solutions for difficult, complex and hard to place risks.
- Support producers and client service staff with understanding and navigating the placement process. Help them grow in their knowledge of market trends, rates, placement, and underwriting negotiations. Participate in meetings and presentations with new and existing clients to talk through the marketplace, analyze coverage options, and select the most suitable insurance programs.
Skills & Experience
- Extensive knowledge of commercial insurance program structures, placement strategies, resource identification and technical coverage issues.
- At least 7-8 years of Commercial P&C insurance experience. Backgrounds that will be considered include:
- Similar experience with a retail agency broker in a centralized marketing/placement role.
- Production Underwriter or Wholesale Broker with a focus on large, complex programs.
Job Specs
Prior experience working with transportation accounts is desirable but not required. More so is the required knowledge of working with large, national accounts.
Location: 100% remote, work from home. Expect approximately 30% travel to visit clients and insurance partners on-site.
