Indianapolis is a 14-hour round trip drive from Des Moines. At least eight times a year (and more if you count home playoffs games) Kris makes the trek to watch his beloved Colts’ home games. If that’s not commitment, we don’t know what is! He puts that same energy and drive into his work at Capstone. Kris is a terrific adviser and career counselor to insurance professionals. He does a great job helping people through every phase of the search process- vetting out real opportunities, considering relocation, negotiating compensation and preparing for the often difficult resignation process. Kris’ favorite pastime is fishing, and since he’s caught everything that swims in Iowa waters, he and his family love to travel throughout the Midwest, Florida, Canada and the Caribbean for exciting expeditions.

Running a marathon? Check. Running a triathlon? Check. Teaching herself Spanish? Check. How? She just decided to. If there is anything Mary can’t do, you can rest assured she can and will learn how to. Starting her career as a commercial insurance producer to becoming one of the most respected voices in insurance recruiting, Mary has always found a way to learn, grow and adapt. She leads Capstone’s agency division and is an integral part of leading our consulting workshops. Her column “Ask the Insurance Recruiter” is published monthly in Insurance Journal Magazine. Passionate, driven and honest, Mary channels her energy outside the office into leading local youth ministries and global mission trips with her family while also cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes!

Chris’ insurance career began in 1998 with one goal in mind – helping people. At Principal Financial Group he partnered with employers to build and implement 401k and group employee benefit programs. He dove even deeper into Health and Welfare strategies as a successful Employee Benefits Producer at Holmes Murphy. With industry experience gained during those early years, Chris joined Capstone in 2003 with that same goal – helping people. Today, he guides candidates through important career decisions as well as counsels hiring managers on how to maneuver through the hiring process. His focus for everyone is to make the best possible decision for the long term. As a lifelong Cubs’ fan, Chris knows that persistence can pay off, not only in your personal life, but in your job search as well!

Amy joined Capstone in 2015 as a Research Assistant, a way many people get their start in staffing. The thing about staffing, like insurance, is there’s a limited success rate from newbie to consultant. Amy is a stand out; a rising star in this business. She has a knack for helping people which is why today she leads Capstone Contract, a division that supports insurance companies, brokers and TPAs with contingent worker placement. As organizations look for creative and cost-effective staffing solutions, Amy is right there to provide all the keys to a successful arrangement. Outside the office, you’ll find Amy and her husband shuffling between activities for their two children, organizing fundraisers for nonprofits like ChildServe and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes!

No stranger to the insurance industry, Jordan joined Capstone in 2022 after a successful career in client service with NCMIC. Originally from the greater Des Moines area, she holds a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Capella University. Her unique combination of insurance expertise, education and project management skills are evident when she counsels individuals on how to uncover new career opportunities. Outside of the office, Jordan loves to test out new recipes, venture outdoors to camp or hike, and spend time with her family rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs.

Sierra joined the Capstone team in 2019 after working in customer service and administration for Des Moines Orthopedic Surgeons. A native of Des Moines, and graduate of DMACC, her role as Office & Brand Manager is multi-faceted. She oversees internal operations like billing, finance and technology. She also supports our sales team with marketing initiatives, job postings and social media. When she’s not keeping it real in the office, Sierra loves to spend time with her family, dive into a good book and travel!
