About the Role
This is a hybrid role that will split time between traditional underwriting functions and daily account management/client service. In this role, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to collect exposures, underwrite, rate, propose coverage, issue policy documents, and maintain coverage forms. It supports a large, complex book of business, along with mentorship of junior team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong balance of product knowledge/expertise and relationship management skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Meet with individual members at each account to review coverage, risk, and exposure
- Underwrite property and liability policies
- Identify and present risk financing and transfer recommendations
- Facilitate underwriting discussions and review
- Process client renewals
- Interpret and analyze technical insurance documents
- Research emerging exposures and programs related to coverage and risk analysis
Skills & Experience
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in commercial lines property and casualty coverages and products
- Strong public speaking skills
- Past underwriting experience a huge plus
- Public entity and/or pooling experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits
$80-95,000 + competitive benefits package
