About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be on the ground floor of building out a division focused on growing an ancillary lines’ Center of Excellence. In this role you will execute strategy, build infrastructure, create and maintain internal and external relationships with vendors and agency partners, and drive new premium growth. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience working with non-medical products and services, technical knowledge and expertise working in the general agency landscape, and the passion to aggressively drive profitable revenue streams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop a long-term strategic plan to achieve goals and execute a shared vision of partnerships, both inside and outside the organization
- Position the team as the go-to partner for brokers, agents, and strategic distribution partners
- Act as a subject matter expert with products, services, trends, and competitive intelligence with all ancillary lines offerings
- Participate in negotiations with the broader employee benefits’ teams with carrier contracts and strategic planning, ensuring world class pricing, product, and service
- Travel frequently to industry events, on-site visits with partners, conferences, and more
- Responsible for broader P&L/budget discussions with staffing needs, technology, marketing, communications, and infrastructure
Skills & Experience
- 7-10 years of progressive sales and leadership experience in ancillary benefits (life, disability, dental, vision, voluntary products)
- Strong technical understanding of general agency distribution model and platform
- Existing relationships with large national carriers and product partners
- Extensive travel throughout a Midwest territory will be required
