About the Role
As Loss Control Consultant you are an important part of creating a valued customer experience at one of the country’s leading Workers’ Compensation insurance companies. Here is a job overview:
- Location: This is a work-from-home position. Qualified applicants must reside within an hour of Des Moines to be in close proximity to a substantial number of accounts located in central Iowa.
- Travel: Expect 60% travel for on-site client visits which will include North Central and Eastern Iowa. A company car is provided.
- Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Three (3) years minimum experience in loss control, risk management, ergonomics, or occupational health/safety/training with a detailed knowledge of workers’ compensation insurance and loss control policies, practices, and safety regulations.
- Excellent consultative skills and able to develop strong customer relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with underwriters on risk analysis, ultimately finding ways to reduce workers compensation claims and injury frequency and severity.
- Analyze loss trend data and other information gathered from the field to assess risk management and safety program quality.
- Conduct inspections, survey business operations to determine OSHA compliance, make recommendations, and develop service plans in collaboration with the insured and internal partners (underwriting and claims).
- Develop and provide reports and educational information related to loss control plans/proposals, on-site presentations, and safety materials.
