About the Role

Privately held health insurance brokerage/consulting firm seeks experienced agency professional for a Group Benefits Coordinator newly created role. This individual will be part of a team providing world class service to municipal accounts in the area of health and welfare benefits eligibility management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish protocol for training department heads to use online Enrollment & Eligibility program
  • Establish protocol for vendor/carrier payment initiation and tracking
  • Assist actives and retirees with their eligibility status and other benefit related situations
  • Serve as a liaison for the client and its employees/retirees with the employer’s vendors, administrators, and insurance carriers
  • Medicare management including monitoring all the eligibility
  • Assist/conduct annual benefit open enrollment(s)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Three or more years of benefits administration experience
  • Data mapping experience preferred
  • Experience in health, life and disability plan administration, claim and billing resolution issues
  • Enrollment background and experience with retirees a Plus
  • Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA, COBRA; knowledge in Medicare, other legislative mandates
  • Experience with Unions, Collective Bargaining Agreements a plus

Compensation & Benefits
