About the Role

The largest independent insurance agency in North and South Dakota seeks an experienced insurance professional who has a combination of human resources skills as well as agency operations. The Director of Operations & Human Resources will work in close coordination with the COO to drive the focus of operational strategy.

Remote with requirement of travel to Minot office at a minimum of every 2 weeks.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process definition, improvement, and implementation
  • Licensing and Continuing Education tracking
  • Manage the account technical services staff (20+ direct reports)
  • Create a compensation strategy
  • Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution
  • Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintain HR and Operational systems and processes
  • Design and implement employee retention strategies

Skills & Experience

  • Proven working experience as HR and/or Operations leader
  • Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices

Compensation, Benefits, & Perks
