We’re looking for a Commercial Claims Litigation Manager to lead and manage staff in day-to-day department operations. Claims Litigation Manager will direct and manage litigation specialists and in-house counsel.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze claims and new litigation for potential exposure
  • Assign litigation defense work to appropriate legal counsel; obtain defense plan
  • Provide legal opinions to Claim Department personnel
  • Evaluate defense counsel performance
  • Set loss reserves and expense reserves for each file based on defense plan
  • Review all files in suit and consult with defense counsel; ensure defense counsel is aware of any affirmative defenses

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced degree required
  • J.D. is preferred but not required
  • At least 10 years of litigated claims experience
  • At least 4 years of supervisory experience in claims
  • In-depth litigation knowledge and experience, including motion practice not limited to declaratory judgment actions

Compensation & Benefits

$135,000 to $140,000, bonus, competitive benefits
