They are seeking an Associate Actuary in their reinsurance division to be responsible for evaluating the viability of reinsurance proposals by employing sound actuarial methodologies and business judgment, with a focus on group term life and group health transactions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze the terms of transactions, the anticipated profitability, and return on capital of potential reinsurance proposals
- Make recommendations to senior management based on their analysis, while working closely with members of the senior leadership team
- Support the corporate goal to grow the assumed reinsurance business operations, participating in the pricing and underwriting process for potential reinsurance transactions
- Perform independent analysis of data submitted by ceding companies to price the business and provide quotes
- Review proposed treaty language and terms of the transaction
- Support the execution, approval, and implementation process of reinsurance transactions
- Support the reinsurance administration for annuity and life insurance treaties
- Prepare and review treaty settlements, initiate wires, and perform reconciliations when necessary
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or actuarial science required
- 4-5 years minimum of actuarial work experience
- Experience working with life insurance, group term, or group health pricing preferred
- ASA professional designation required
Compensation & Benefits
$110-120,000 + bonus + full benefits package
