This well-respected regional insurance company that has been in business for over 100 years is looking for a Life Claims Administrator to join their team. This is a temporary role to help cover while an employee is out on leave. In this role, you will obtain information, monitor, and investigate claims to ensure compliance and timely payment of applicable benefits. You will also provide assistance to agents and policyholders regarding pending claims and appeals.
Job Specs: Temporary position starting May 27, 2019 lasting through mid-July with possible extension.
Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm M-F or 38.75 hours per week
Location: Des Moines, IA
- Analyze, investigate and adjudicate life/annuity claims to ensure timely and accurate payment of contract benefits. Process death claims upon receipt of all necessary paperwork, including ordering and mailing checks.
- Send out claim paperwork requirements upon notification of incoming new claims, and set follow-up dates.
- Prepare correspondence for beneficiaries, funeral homes, agents, etc. from initial claim notice to follow-ups to final resolution.
- Utilize following primary systems: workflow for tracking daily claims activity, LifePro for processing death claims, DocView for records retention/filing, and Microsoft Office (Outlook/Word/Excel).
Requirements: 2+ years previous experience processing life and annuity claims. Familiarity with state laws and guidelines for tax implications and beneficiary handling.
