Insurance Job Description

Our client is a leading commercial property-casualty insurance provider serving the global corporate, large corporate, middle market, small business, specialties and programs sectors. They currently seek a Surety Underwriter in Los Angeles, CA.

Surety Underwriter Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business.

  • Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations. 

  • Market companies' products and services through an agency plant and/or through the brokerage community.

  • Develop/maintain agency and / or broker relationships

Surety Underwriter Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree.

  • 4 or more years of related experience.

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of progression of positions of increasing responsibility.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of surety lines of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines.

  • Ability to effectively assess risk.

  • Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing, regulations and guidelines.
