Insurance Job Description

Our client is a medium-sized reinsurer with worldwide operations. They operate in over 120 countries, developing value added, innovative and made to measure products and services and making long-term commitments to their clients, namely insurers and large corporations. They currently offer an opportunity to join their company in a Senior Underwriting role in Miami working with their Latin America & US surety business. The position is responsible for underwriting new and renewal business opportunities, carrying out the marketing plan, and acting as an account manager for current accounts. 

Senior Surety Reinsurance Underwriter Responsibilities:

  • Market products to retail and reinsurance brokers to obtain suitable business.

  • Evaluate the technical aspects of risks.

  • Determine acceptable underwriting terms and conditions to write profitable business.

  • Servicing accounts for renewals and other items, including meetings with Brokers, Companies and Insureds.

  • 70% on Latin American business and 30% on U.S. surety business 

Senior Surety Reinsurance Underwriter Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree. Completion of CPCU and/or ARe.

  • A minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years underwriting and/or reinsurance brokerage experience. Surety primary or reinsurance experience.

  • Spanish a must and Portuguese a plus.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.
