Our client was founded over a century ago with an important mission: making financial security and independence a reality for their customer. They offer a wide variety of life insurance products, including: Traditional life insurance, Term life insurance, Universal life insurance. And hold an "Excellent" rating by AM Best. They presently offer an opportunity to join their organization as a Product Development Specialist. They would ideally like the individual located in their office in the Quad Cities, however would consider as an alternate, locating the person in Austin, TX. In this role you will assist with developing and maintaining a competitive and profitable portfolio of life, annuity, and health products to meet and exceed the company's sales objectives.

Product Development Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Conduct extensive research preparing for new product(s) development. 

  • Position new product/enhancements to be competitive and unique. 

  • Provide basic new product specifications as a baseline for pricing and champion new development.

  • Assist with and/or lead management of the development and implementation process for new products and enhancements.

  • Provide competitive intelligence on other companies' comparable life, annuity, and health products on a ongoing basis.  

  • Provide advice on features that will enhance the Illustration software to help drive sales.

  • Provide technical expertise in setting up new products/enhancements in both the Illustration software and the Administration system.

  • Provide technical expertise in testing the Illustration and Administration systems for accuracy.

  • Coordinate turning on newly approved states in the production environments.

Product Development Specialist Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in related field; five to ten years life and annuity insurance and financial services experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
