Insurance Job Description

Our insurance agency client is a leading provider of transportation risk management and insurance for almost any size fleet. They specialize in coverage for nearly every commercial transportation segment, including Motor coach, School Bus, Limousine, Non-Emergency Medical, Para transit and Truck. They currently offer an opportunity to Manage their agency operations. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of the management of the agency's business. This is a profit center management opportunity with significant autonomy provided to the general manager.

Insurance Agency Manager Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to business and personnel.

  • Direct the identification, contact, soliciting, selling, and servicing to prospects.

  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance.

Insurance Agency Manager Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; an advanced degree and/or insurance industry degree and/or insurance industry professional designations (e.g. CPCU, CLU, ARM) are a plus.

  • Minimum of 10 years insurance industry experience, five years spent in a commercial insurance sales capacity with a direct writer of commercial insurance or with an agency.

  • Two years sales management experience is also required.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance contracts, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and senior management
