Our client is the first service to provide affordable and easy-to-use weather coverage to protect revenue and control costs for the millions of businesses impacted by the weather. Founded by two high profile entrepreneurs, our client is well funded and backed by one of the world's largest weather risk and catastrophe reinsurance fund managers. Our client is seeking an entrepreneurial minded Business Development Director to develop relationships with brokers and insurance carriers. They are looking for a talented and proven Business Development professional with deep experience and insight within the US Insurance markets. The successful applicant will have a demonstrable track record in driving new private label & partner programs and relationships within the Major Insurers, Brokers, Reinsurers, and MGA's. The role is to identify, prospect, develop, close, and manage new distribution channels for our client's unique and groundbreaking weather-risk products.  

Business Development Director Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with management to identify target companies and programs within insurance. 

  • Prioritize opportunities by requirement, size and speed.

  • Starting, qualifying, pursuing and negotiating deals will be the majority of the role.

  • Manage relationships of the customers you create, ensuring they are receiving adequate support and are renewing.

Business Development Director Requirements:

  • Proven ability with 5 years+ working a senior sales or business development role targeting insurance corporations with insurance products.

  • Experience developing new products in new markets a big plus. 

  • A smart, analytical, personable, and extremely talented salesperson who wants to hit the phones and be involved in a challenging and world-changing opportunity. 

  • Self-motivated, hard-working, eager to create deals that can garner mass distribution of their products. 

  • Highly adept in prospecting, qualifying, structuring, negotiating, and closing partnership deals and strategic alliances. 

  • A quantitative-minded person with a solid understanding of finance and risk management.
