is one of the nation's largest and most respected dental insurers. They
currently offer an opportunity to join their underwriting team in
Phoenix, AZ.
Dental
Underwriter Responsibilities:
Developing new and renewal rates for Indemnity, Preferred Provider
Organization (PPO), and Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DHMO)
products.
Utilizing
end-user rating applications, analysis, and judgment to develop rates
that are competitive.
Working
closely with sales personnel to optimize financial results.
Approving
financial decisions for groups up to 3,000 lives and generating
premium amounts up to $8000,000 annually.
Authorizing concessions on quoted rates up to 5.0% of annual premium
or $40,000.
Analyzing
claims experience or other information provided by previous insurers
Preparing
financial exhibits, report packages, and questions for prospective bid
Dental
Underwriter Requirements:
Dental
underwriting experience preferred, a minimum of five years group
Healthcare underwriting experience.
Knowledge
of rating policies and group products, case tracking, reporting, and
underwriting methodologies, products, and funding arrangements.
Bachelor's degree with a concentration in mathematics, finance, or a
related field..
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Ability
to work in fast-paced, changing environment
Strong
verbal and written communications skills
