Our client is well known for assisting people in many facets of their lives, including travel and lodging; auto buying, leasing, renting, and repair; financial services such as loans and credit cards; and insurance needs. They currently offer an opportunity to join their organization in a key position, Managing Director, Tour, Cruise and Product Development. In this role you will direct and lead the Tour and Cruise Relations departments within Travel Services in developing unique and exclusive Travel products in negotiating financially rewarding contracts with Preferred Travel Suppliers to achieve "best in industry" financial rewards. Manage the on-going relationships with Preferred Tour and Cruise Suppliers in order to grow substantially in annual cruise, tour, air, hotel and other Travel product sales. Three main initiatives for this position include: Growth, Managing margins and Product Development.

Managing Director of Tour, Cruise and Product Development Responsibilities:

  • Directs development of unique and exclusive products in accordance with strategy to encourage new memberships and member retention. 

  • Oversees contract negotiation, on-going relationships and communication with Travel Suppliers.

  • Plans and develops marketing strategies and materials for all Travel products and services and oversees communication/implementation to ensure efficient and effective rollout of new products and maximization of sales.

  • Plans, develops and oversees implementation of distribution channel strategies for the most efficient sale of Travel products, focusing on the online channel for commodity Travel products.

  • Directs the establishment of service requirements and ongoing monitoring of Preferred Travel Suppliers to ensure achievement of defined service levels. 

Managing Director of Tour, Cruise and Product Development Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

  • 8-10 years tour and cruise experience in wholesale, retail, or travel technology industry.

  • Experience running a product line.

  • Strong skills in large-scale project development and management.

  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to develop strong relationships.
