Insurance Job Description

Our client is a regional carrier with a long successful tradition. They consistently have been assigned an excellent rating by AM Best. Currently they offer an opportunity to join their home office underwriting department as a Product Manager. This position is responsible for managing the Commercial Auto line of business and directing underwriting efforts including coverage design and reinsurance issues.

Product Manager Duties

  • Work with Actuarial, reviewing loss costs/rates and LCMs to assure adequate premiums are being obtained to the exposure (s) assumed, as well as developing and amending company policy, forms and endorsements.

  • Develop and analyze competitive market intelligence to identify trends.

  • Serve as technical underwriting resource, which includes providing guidance on referrals from Regional underwriting operations.

  • Responsibilities also include developing and presenting related training programs in Regional offices.

Product Manager Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years related Commercial Auto experience.

  • Advanced insurance education strongly desired, i.e., CPCU.

  • Well rounded experience and an in-depth knowledge of Commercial Lines Insurance programs, with knowledge of and experience in Special Market programs.

  • Reinsurance placements and procedures and retention strategies.

  • Experienced in workflow and processing procedures.

  • Excellent analytical and math skills necessary as well as proficiency working with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
