Product Manager Insurance Job

Our client is a small but highly profitable, financially secure and growing nonstandard automobile insurance company marketing through independent agents. Initially they are seeking to increase market share in existing states and ultimately researching additional markets for future expansion. They specialize in promoting automobile insurance in Spanish speaking communities. They currently offer an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Product Manager. The position is located in a suburb of Chicago. This will be the Company's first Product Manager and the potential impact for the Company and for the individual are substantial. The experienced Product Manager will find this position challenging, but also see that the possibilities are highly appealing. 

Product Manager Responsibilities:

• This position manages the growth and profitability of the Company and is responsible for planning, communication, product design, rate setting and taking necessary actions to maintain superior business results. 

• Developing rate levels and indications, monitoring premium and losses, executing regulatory filings. Implementing an effective marketing strategy.

• Analysis of competitor programs, rate structures, strategy and loss costs .

• Effective communication inside and outside of the Company.

• Building relationships to gather intelligence including good ideas used by competitors. 

Product Manager Requirements:

• 3-5 years experience in a product management (Progressive preferred) or similar position in insurance.

• Technical knowledge to generate rate levels.

• Demonstrated business judgment and creativity. A graduate degree (MBA or equivalent).

• Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude.

• Flexibility and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

• Good problem solving aptitude.

• Attention to detail.
