Insurance Job Description

Our client specializes in employer-sponsored group insurance and employee benefits while providing solid service and quality products throughout the United States. They presently offer an opportunity to join their underwriting team. They are looking for a skilled underwriting professional to join their organization. In this role, you would handle the renewal and new business medical group underwriting for the fully insured and ASO.

Stop Loss Underwriter responsibilities include:

  • Working with existing business-renewals

  • Calculating rate relief and renewal action

  • Testing and maintaining applications, rates and performing user testing

  • Analyzing risks and pricing

  • Working with the sales team in explaining rates, methodologies and renewal information to clients

Stop Loss Underwriter qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Math, Science or a related field (Actuarial Science, Business, etc)

  • Group medical underwriting experience (both in fully insured and ASO)

  • Experience working with new and renewal business

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

  • Stop loss knowledge
