Our client is a well established independent agency in Denver that has achieved significant growth over the past five years.  Momentum is critical; they want to continue exponential growth through a unique hire in their commercial insurance division.  A focal point of their ongoing business development strategy is the addition of a senior commercial producer to expand the agency's market capabilities while also providing an additional level of sales leadership infrastructure.  Therefore, this opportunity is one which allows you to continue producing while taking on more sales management responsibilities. Specifically, those will include mentoring junior producers, identifying key marketing opportunities, and creating a team based sales culture.     

Senior Commercial Insurance Producer, Sales Leader Responsibilities:

  • As a "leader by example", you'll be on the front lines originating new business opportunities. 

  • You will involve junior level producers with your new business prospects; this may include bringing them into deals as a split commission but which provides an additional level of client contact between the agency and your client.

  • You'll help provide one-on-one training with producers in the office; leading them through strategies on new business prospects and providing insight into larger businesses in the Colorado market. 

Senior Commercial Insurance Producer, Sales Leader Qualifications

  • At least 7-10 years of experience in the commercial lines middle market and/or national accounts segment.

  • Your personal production will focus on generating approximately $100k in new business commission annually.

  • Progressive experience in sales leadership; you desire the role of team leader with the ability to appropriately dedicate time to employee development, strategic group benefits expansion, and personal production.

  • You consistently produce your own new business relationships; you can identify opportunities within the agency to develop new business (either through cross selling or in tandem with another producer); you emphasize regional expansion and can create a solid foundation for internal referrals between group employee benefits and property and casualty. 

  • Demonstrated experience leading sales teams including mentorship and ongoing producer training/development.

  • Management experience includes strategic product positioning, supporting marketing efforts, budget forecasting, and some operations leadership

  • Preference given to candidates with personal or professional ties in the region; candidates interested in relocating to Denver will be considered; broad Mountain West business ties is important.  

Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a guaranteed salary with commission on new business production.
