Insurance Job Description

Our client is a large, independent insurance agency renowned as risk management experts for the construction industry.  They have a fully developed contract surety department and seek a Contract Surety Manager to lead all service and sales activities.  This role has the formidable task of assessing the strength of clients and addressing their ongoing business needs while marketing to insurance carriers for the most competitive products. 

As Bond Manager, Producer

  • You'll serve as an internal resource with the risk management sales team to discuss specific accounts, assess the surety department's current capabilities, and implement changes necessary to offer a competitive product

  • Consult with clients regarding specific bond projects (either bid, performance, supply, or payment), assess their financial strength, ability to perform, and reputation with their contracts for the basis of securing bond solutions

  • Actively engage with insurance producers on joint sales calls and support continued retention and relationship building with contractors 

Bond Manager, Producer Qualifications

  • At least 5-10 years of contract surety experience in production underwriting or sales

  • Experience analyzing financial statements and working with markets to secure contract bonds

  • Understanding of the team sales process and a client centered approach to customer service

  • Familiarity dealing directly with contractors to sit down in a consultative way and discuss their surety program options; an existing following of potential contractors is highly attractive

  • Analytical and sales oriented with experience in membership with construction, surety, or other civil and trade organizations
