Production Underwriter, Workers Compensation Insurance Job

Our client is a reputable E&S wholesale broker working in several specialty markets.  With an entrepreneurial spirit, they have experienced significant growth and profitability despite the recent market challenges.  In response to great demand from their retail partners the firm has expanded its workers compensation product offerings in recent years. These positions, Production Underwriter- Workers Compensation, are additions to the existing West Coast and Southwest staff. 

Production Underwriters- Workers Compensation Responsibilities:

• Analyze, evaluate, select, rate and qualify prospective workers compensation business for successful placement within one of the company's brokerage markets.

• Achieve established production goals focusing on growth through premium production, retained income and underwriting profit.

• Prepare submissions, quotations and rating for new business; for renewals remain actively involved in following the account's development and providing necessary customer service to agents.

• Focus on relationship development with agents in assigned territory; set a marketing schedule with some outside travel approximately 1-2 days per month.

Production Underwriter- Workers Compensation Qualifications:

• Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent; college degree is preferred.

• A minimum of three (3) years workers compensation underwriting experience.

• Ability to manage the workflow of a large volume of submissions; you will be responsible for all administration and underwriting up to the point of binding.

• Active state insurance license or able to obtain one within 120 days of hire.

• Strong written and oral communication; comfortable working in the field, marketing and branding the company's capabilities in underwriting and brokerage.
