Insurance Job Description

Our client has grown from a small underwriting office to a multi-state managing general agency that represents almost 2,000 agents throughout the Southeast.  Their staff is comprised of ethical, experienced professionals committed to providing customers access to alternative markets.  They currently seek a personal lines underwriter. 

As Underwriter

  • You'll be responsible for driving new business production while maintaining a high retention standard

  • You'll engage current and prospective retail agents to distribute products and address customer service needs

  • Your primary duties will include reviewing submissions, underwriting homeowners risks, and securing competitive approval from multiple personal lines carriers to present to the retail broker 

Underwriter Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years of personal lines underwriting experience

  • Strong focus in homeowners/dwelling fire coverage with personal umbrella secondary

  • Preference given to candidates with wholesale or Managing General Agency underwriting experience due to familiarity managing multiple carrier relationships to underwrite
