They are among the top 100 property and casualty insurers in the U.S. They currently offer an opportunity to join their Claims Management team in their Atlanta, GA area claims operation.

As a Unit Claims Manager you will

  • Manage a claims unit responsible for handling multi-line claims for the state of Georgia.
  • Oversee the technical activities of assigned claim staff, as well as independent vendors.
  • Approve the settlement of claims within authorized amounts (discretionary) or specific file authority.
  • Recommend settlement values on all claims in excess of discretionary authority.
  • Document and report all claim activity on files in excess of granted authority to appropriate parties.
  • Establish and monitor reserves on all assigned claims.
  • Participate in arbitration, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution programs. This position has no case load.

Unit Claims Manager Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance or related field, or its equivalent.
  • Continuing education related to this job such as AIC/AIM/CPCU programs.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant claims experience to include supervisory experience with demonstrated achievements and progressive responsibilities.
