Insurance Job Description

Our client is an A plus rated Property and Casualty Commercial Lines Insurance Company. Due to profitable growth and succession planning, we are seeking a Commercial Underwriting Insurance Executive with a strong property commercial lines underwriting and marketing background to be a Corporate Property Underwriting Manager. This position will also be part of the company's succession planning to Underwriting Director and or Branch Manager/RVP in the future. This position can work out of any of the Regional locations in the New England states, or Syracuse, New York. Very flexible. You will be taking a lead position in the execution of the company's property underwriting and marketing strategies, reviewing individual risk opportunities with underwriters, conducting performance audits, and developing agency relationships.

Property Underwriting Director Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the continuous improvement of underwriting quality to achieve profitable growth for the company
  • Delivering a collaborative underwriting referral process to branch offices
  • Overseeing quarterly quality review process and annual branch underwriting audits
  • Supporting branch product development initiatives; assisting in training and developing underwriting staff
  • Providing other support to branches as needed including filings, technical training, coaching, reporting, etc.

Property Underwriting Director Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and ten years of progressive property and casualty underwriting experience.
  • Must be thoroughly seasoned in commercial lines underwriting, with an emphasis in Property and must possess management and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are required.
  • CPCU designation is preferred.
  • Travel is required.
