Insurance Job Description

Our client is a prominent property/casualty carrier on the West Coast and is a subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company. They offer a broad range of business insurance products to small and middle market customers. They provide consultative loss prevention methods, comprehensive claims services and distribute their products to an established network of independent agents and brokers. They seek an experienced claims manager to join their property division.

As Claims Unit Leader

  • You'll delegate case loads and oversee authority levels of a team of claims representatives
  • You'll monitor the accuracy and efficiency of pending claims and serve as a referral for complex cases outside granted authority levels
  • Your expertise is needed in the prompt and cost conscience disposal of litigated claims
  • You'll audit closed files to track budgeting and customer service protocol
  • Your work will be closely integrated with the underwriting department to identify coverage issues and monitor legislation and court decisions that affect the company's products

Claims Unit Leader Qualification

  • Minimum of 5 years as a claims representative with supervisory experience and a strong focus on property claims
  • Strong team building and employee management skills needed
  • Professional designation preferred
