Insurance Job Description

Our client a managing general agency with a reputation for exceptional coverage and service to their retail agents. They develop lasting relationships with regional clients and are backed by one of the most respected commercial auto carriers in the P&C industry. This is an exciting time for their operations and they seek an experienced underwriting manager to lead the future direction of the company.

As Branch Manager

  • Your primary responsibility is to oversee the growth and profitability of the agency's underwriting operations
  • You'll position the company as a leader in transportation and commercial auto coverage and market new product roll outs
  • You'll develop new business through agency appointments and enhance current client relationships
  • You'll institute policies and procedures that promote sound financial analysis including current quoting, binding and billing processes
  • You'll do internal audits that monitor timely service, underwriting consistency and evaluates team performance

Branch Manager Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of senior underwriting experience with a strong focus in commercial transportation coverage like liability, physical damage, inland marine and excess/umbrella
  • Must be well versed in industry issues including current legislation, claims litigation and ISO revisions
  • At least 5 years of agency management experience including the development of underwriting guidelines, filings, audits and risk management practices
  • Focus on team building, training, and the promotion of ethical underwriting practices
  • Advanced knowledge of the Southeast retail agency network preferred
