Insurance Job Description

Our client has held a "Superior" rating by AM Best for many years. They have been selected by Fortune magazine as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in America. They presently offer an opportunity to join their organization as a Senior Underwriter.

As a Senior Underwriter you will be responsible for:

  • Financial performance of approx. $4.5mm renewal book of specialty business.
  • Achieving profitable growth amongst assigned agencies in Orange and Riverside Counties.
  • Soliciting, risk selection and analysis (including documentation), pricing and sales of products and services for new business.
  • Successful market penetration and agency management including:
  • Meeting with new and renewal customers to make sales presentations and negotiate coverage, price, financial terms and service delivery, as necessary.
  • Collecting and analyzing competitor information regarding products, appetites and capabilities.

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated specialized knowledge of D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime, Kidnap Ransom, MPL, Internet Liability and Workplace Violence underwriting.
  • Proven, successful, sales skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience developing marketing plans
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of management liability underwriting experience.
