They presently offer an opportunity to join their organization as a Commercial Lines Underwriter in the Washington DC area. In this role, you will be accountable for the renewal and new business underwriting of a book of program business and commercial multi-line business. Account size ranges from $75,000 and larger. Lines of business handled include property, products & premises liability, general liability, auto, workers comp, and umbrella. You will be responsible for the growth and profitability of the book. To be considered you must offer around three or more years experience underwriting commercial package and/or commercial multi-line business. You should be able to demonstrate success in the marketing & sale of a product line and additional services offered (loss control, claims, etc.), have a proven track record in writing new business, negotiating, building strong relationships with customers, and providing exceptional customer service. You must be able to analyze complex risks, possess detail-oriented analytical skills, prioritize the gathering of underwriting data, and clearly communicate a well thought out underwriting approach.
