Generating multi-million premiums in 2006, our client is ranked in the top 10 of independent insurance agencies in the country. Their success is derived from offering innovative, cost effective risk management plans to public entities, educational institutions and the healthcare industry. They are poised for even greater expansion in the coming year and are increasing their service and support staff. They seek an experienced account manager with strong supervisory skills to lead a service team in their employee benefits division. You must be well versed in handling group benefits products like medical, dental, disability and AD&D. This position oversees a substantial volume of accounts and will coordinate all renewal marketing, enrollments and claims tracking. You'll serve as the primary client service contact and assist in cross-selling new services and products based on an analysis of a customer's existing insurance packages. Management responsibilities will include direction and leadership of a team of customer services reps and account managers. You'll provide training, mentoring, performance evaluations and disciplinary reviews as needed. In addition to servicing your own book you'll monitor the work quality of 4-6 direct reports and also provide performance updates to account executives. To be considered you must offer 5-7 years of experience in an account management role. Prior supervisory experience is needed. Requires strong technical knowledge of group benefits coverage including medical, dental, vision, life and disability. Must currently hold a CA life/health license.
