Our client is rated A+ by A.M. Best. They are a specialist in their niche. Due to growth in business they currently offer an opportunity to join their underwriting department in a supervisory role. As an Underwriting Supervisor you will supervise the technical underwriting activities of your staff, to troubleshoot staff problems, and to underwrite assigned policies of a more complex nature. Responsibilities will include review and audit underwriting files for compliance, results, coaching, and learning. Manage job performance of the reporting staff. Review applications on new and renewal business of a more complex nature. Coordinate and discuss with safety for review of risks and actuarial department for experience/loss picks. To be considered you will need to offer previous experience underwriting truck risks. In addition, you must know the loss sensitive, complicated insurance programs such as retrospectively rated policies and self-insured retention policies. Good math skill and analytical skills are essential. Strong communication skills (written and oral). Ability to relate and interact with all levels of business people. Technologically competent, especially with spreadsheets and other windows environment. Prior supervisory experience ideal. Though those with the potential to be a proficient supervisor could be considered. Work towards the CPCU designation preferred. Excellent salary and relocation available.
