CA San Francisco SIU Investigator
 

 

Our Commercial Property and Casualty Insurance Company client is seeking an experienced SIU Investigator to handle a territory in San Francisco, California. This field position is based out of the client's office in San Francisco, California. You will a minimum of 5 years experience as an SIU Investigator with a Property and Casualty Insurance Company. Prior law enforcement experience would be needed, as well as experience as a claims adjuster. You will conduct investigations into suspicious insurance claim files. In addition candidates will:

  • Develop information to substantiate a legitimate claim, or recommend denial or resistance of an unjustified claim.

  • Recognizes, identifies and safeguards evidence that will either support payment, compromise or deny a claim.

  • Conducts interviews and obtains recorded or written statements from insureds, claimants, witnesses or any other person who may directly or indirectly provide information that would lead to the proper disposition of a claim.

  • Prepares investigative reports.

  • Establishes and maintains open channels of communication with Home Office and Regional Claim offices concerning all relevant information developed during the investigation of a loss.

  • Provides status reports, photographs and any other relevant material developed to the regional claim office.

  • Assists with the training of regional claim personnel in fraud recognition and identification.

  • Maintains contact with law enforcement personnel, fire officials, state insurance fraud departments, other insurance investigators and service agencies.

  • Maintains a close working relationship with NICB, state fraud bureaus, and ensures that the client is within compliance of all state anti-fraud regulations.

  • Five or more years experience as an SIU investigator with either a commercial insurance carrier and/or government anti-fraud agency, in the investigation of commercial property & casualty claims with a concentration in Workers Compensation claims. Additional background in claim handling and/or law enforcement required. Must have a proven record of diligent and proactive anti-fraud efforts. Proficient with computer based programs, web-based databases and excellent report writing skills. Excellent compensation package and benefits.
