They currently offer an opportunity to join their claims department in a Physical Damage & Cargo Adjuster position in their regional operation in Boise, ID. This position will work both inside and outside the office. While inside the office you will obtain accident details, repair estimates, and other documentation; review files, set reserves, direct file to subrogation as necessary, maintain diary system, negotiate settlements and/or review final settlement offers, authorize and request payment, ensure issuance of checks and coordinate settlement of defense files with legal department. Interpret coverage on the policies in question. Supervise cargo and physical damage files by assigning and directing independent adjuster to investigate claims and physical damage losses. Negotiate loss settlement based on coverage in question, knowledge of repair costs, and other relevant factors. While in field you will travel to accident site when cargo or equipment is endangered. May arrange security of cargo & equipment; supervise clean-up of accident site. Supervise luggers doing cargo transfer and makes preliminary arrangements for transport and/or sale of salvaged cargo. Inspect damaged equipment, authorize sale of salvaged cargo and equipment, and collect salvage proceeds. To be considered you must offer around five or more years of cargo claims handling experience. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience required. Insurance industry coursework such as studies toward the IIA/CPCU preferred. Excellent salary and relocation available.
