CT Hartford Pre-sales Technical Consultant
 

Our client is a leading innovator in insurance and banking software. Their award-winning solutions enable clients to acquire, service, and build customer relationships, reduce operating costs, and increase product development and maintenance capacity. They are looking to add to staff in the capacity of a Pre-Sales Technical Consultant. This person will be responsible both for the management and extension of the Demo System and for technical consulting duties on the presales team, including working on bids and giving technical presentations. This is a multi-faceted role, involving both hands-on Java development work and customer-facing, technical consulting engagements. Other duties will include:

  • Maintain base demo system for pre-sales by creating/amending standing data, case specific e-forms, scripts, cases, processes, etc. in line with our client's standards.

  • Release the base demo system for consultants through the production and installation of ghost images for Demo laptops.

  • Support key bid activities with presentation and real-time execution of key product configuration and customization activities.

  • RFI, RFP, ITT, Customer Case Study and White Paper completion.

  • Give presentations to prospects and customers on the technical architecture and technology in general during sales engagements.

  • Give realistic timeframes for development, integration, and configuration.

  • Drive standardization of documentation.

  • Develop knowledge of the technical architecture and configurability, to make changes and teach others to make changes to the solutions.

  • Work with data/system architects in a customer organization during initial interactions, making use of system modeling tools.

  • Liaise with other departments and external partner organizations on all technical matters.

Qualified candidates will have excellent Java development skills and experience with specific technologies including XML, JSP, Javascript, HTML, Eclipse/Netbeans IDE, Dreamweaver, relational database (DB2/Oracle/SQL Server) and related querying tools, modeling techniques and tools such as Rational Rose, and Ghosting software and networking technologies. Experience building, deploying, and configuring applications on a J2EE compliant application server such as WebSphere, WebLogic, and Tomcat. Presentation experience required with additional consulting experience a plus. Experience completing RFP/ITT bid documentation preferred.
