Our client is a dynamic multi-state insurance and investment organization headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. Their heritage spans more than 75 years and centers on the deep-rooted commitment to serving the needs of their customers. They currently offer an opportunity to join their actuarial team in their Des Moines operation. These two opportunities exist in our client's property/casualty Product Development & Pricing area. Assistant Actuary Prepare rate and reserve recommendations using sound actuarial techniques and assist in their implementation to assure they are competitive and profitable. To be considered, you must have at least five years actuarial work experience and proven performance on the job. Successful completion of 6 actuarial exams required. Technology knowledge and skills in PC, Business Intelligence software and Mainframe areas to effectively use in solving actuarial and business related problems. You must have extensive knowledge of Property/Casualty insurance and to be able to apply actuarial skills to address specific insurance problems. Must have project leadership skills. Must be a self-starter who is detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple projects. Proven ability to do in-depth analytical, problem solving and organizational skills to address complex multi-line issues.
Actuarial Associate Prepare rate & reserve recommendations and assist in implementation. Contribute in meeting goals for profit, growth, & service by developing rates & rating plans. Ensure compliance with regulations & actuarial standards via work standards, rate filings support, auditor support, & other support for legal issues. Assist with training & evaluation of staff & methods. Do actuarial research. Identify, resolve, and explain unusual results. Min. 4 yrs. actuarial work exp. & completion of 5 exams. Further exam progress within 2 yrs. Technology skills in PC, Bus Intelligence software, & Mainframe areas. Knowledge of P/C insurance, & leadership skills. Proven ability to deal with complex issues. Those with less than the experience and exam progress outlined above could be considered. This client supports continued exam progress with a competitive study program.
