Because of this growth, they presently offer an opportunity to join their commercial lines underwriting department in Des Moines, IA. In this role you will be responsible to accept, retain and price commercial insurance risks in conformance with established underwriting policies, practices and standards. You will work with commercial underwriting assignments of high technical complexity and consideration. Further, you will be responsible for providing guidance and assistance to lower level underwriters and other functional areas. Lines of insurance underwritten could include one of the following: General Liability and Workers' Compensation; Commercial Fire, Boiler, and Machinery and Package; Commercial Auto and Garage; Crime/Fidelity and Surety, Inland Marine and Umbrella. To be considered you must offer around three or more years commercial underwriting experience. Undergraduate degree and insurance industry coursework required.
