Our client has been in the casualty underwriting business for over 30 years. Backed by one of the largest E&S specialty writers in country, they offer niche markets a broad range of casualty products like product liability, professional liability and medical malpractice coverage. They work nationwide on both an admitted and non-admitted basis with typical limits at $5 million per occurrence. They offer several opportunities for entry level to seasoned underwriters to join their professional liability department. As an underwriter you'll be responsible for achieving production goals, reinforcing favorable broker relationships and delivering outstanding customer service. An independent, self-starter is needed with strong analytical skills and 1-5 years of underwriting experience, preferably within the surplus lines field. Ability to develop agency relationships and implement specialized marketing initiatives is needed. The successful candidate must have some exposure to professional liability coverage, with a strength in a single line or combination of the following classes: architects & engineers, lawyers, EPLI, D&O, allied health and E&O.
