Our client is a leading health and life insurer.
They have been committed to serving employer based healthcare for almost
a century. Our current search will work for the division of our client
company. In this position you will manage and provide leadership to a
staff of 12 to 15 actuaries. You will also have the responsibility to
produce financial reports and analyses, provide input into product
design and pricing, provide written and verbal updates on business
results to senior management and other internal and external
stakeholders and maintain knowledge of industry regulations and other
market conditions that may affect the business. Responsibilities:
Prepare financial reports and analyses
summarizing business results and drivers of financial performance
Develop, provide leadership and manage the
actuarial staff
Provide updates to senior management and other
stakeholders regarding business results and the status of specific
initiatives
Provide regular communication to management
team regarding regulatory and other market conditions that may affect
the business
Provide input into product design, including
pricing, for both standard products and products that have been
customized for specific customers.
Manage or work collaboratively with
underwriting staff on all underwriting decisions
To be considered you will need to offer:
College Degree required, MBA or similar degree
preferred
Career ASA or FSA
Minimum 3-5 years management experience within
a health insurance environment
Strong knowledge of Universal Life products and
voluntary marketplace required. Prefer knowledge of dental, disability
and critical illness products
Strong verbal and written communication skills,
including the ability to translate technical terms to a non-technical
audience
Strong leadership, managerial and delegation
skills
Superior financial reporting and analysis
skills
Excellent collaboration, negotiation and
teamwork skills
