Our client was founded over a century ago with an important mission: making financial security and independence a reality for their customer. They offer a wide variety of life insurance products, including: Traditional life insurance, Term life insurance, Universal life insurance. And hold an "Excellent" rating by AM Best. They presently offer an opportunity to join their organization as Chief Actuary. In this role you will be responsible to assure a high level of actuarial support by overseeing actuarial and consulting service to perform complex analysis and projections, create customized products, financial and economic models, and produce actuarial products and reports. This will include:

  • Perform valuation calculation of reserves, including annual and quarterly certifications

  • Provide technical guidance to company management in establishing profit objectives.

  • Ensure that required reports are filed with state insurance departments.

  • Accumulate, update and maintain all experience studies including Mortality, Lapse and Expense reports

  • Stay current on regulatory compliance and external financial influences and trends.

  • Direct the administrative and technical actuarial functions in the product administration.

  • Direct all insurance product development

  • Develop and maintain organizational risk assessment document in accordance with current actuarial standards

  • Responsible for valuation of reserves, including annual and quarterly calculations.

  • Design new insurance plans, including premium calculations.

  • Review insurance and annuity plans, and the cash reserves and liabilities necessary to ensure payment of future benefits

  • Determine equitable basis for distributing surplus earnings under participating insurance and annuity contracts in mutual companies.

  • Maintain all of reinsurance relationships

  • Management of the actuarial department and related functions.

  • To be considered you must offer your Fellow, Society of Actuaries (FSA), with 4 years' related experience or Associate Society of Actuaries (ASA) with 10 years of experience; Member of Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) or eligibility for membership required.
