Our client was founded over a century ago with an important mission: making financial security and independence a reality for their customer. They offer a wide variety of life insurance products, including: Traditional life insurance, Term life insurance, Universal life insurance. And hold an "Excellent" rating by AM Best. They presently offer an opportunity to join their accounting department as Controller. In this role you will be responsible for timely and accurate reporting of financial data. Responsible for the production and filing of financial reports required by company management and regulatory authorities. Manage and direct work performed by the premium accounting, general accounting, and budgeting work units. Responsible for the maintenance of the General Ledger. Responsible for timely and accurate accumulation, balancing and voiding of all General Ledger input data including monthly Medicare Supplement and investment transactions. Responsible for the development, analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to appraise profitability, capital expenditures, and performance against budget. To be considered you must have a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 10 years related experience within a life insurance environment. CPA preferred; LOMA FLMI desired. Must be able to analyze and explain complex financial data in narrative form for management and regulators. Must possess a complete understanding of the financial aspects of company and industry.
