Our client is an international property and casualty insurance company. They offer specialty insurance products and reinsurance programs to a variety of niche markets. Their market strategy enables them to develop expertise and specialized market knowledge. They currently offer an opportunity to join their underwriting department as a territory manager. You'll oversee a team of underwriters in their excess/reinsurance division. Extensive knowledge of excess general liability coverage is required. You'll be responsible for some underwriting as well as the training and development of your team. You'll work closely with standard market underwriters to coordinate excess products and you'll target small to middle market clientele. You'll be assigned a territory that will be your responsibility to maximize agency production and insure that team goals are achieved. You'll prepare monthly and quarterly production reports to be presented to senior management. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of underwriting experience. A master's degree or professional designation (i.e. CPCU, AU or CIC) is required. Competitive salary is available based on experience.
