Our client is a highly respected personal lines property and casualty insurance organization home based in Florida. Current automobile and homeowners premium is approximately $500 Million. Due to growth we have been asked to assist them with searching for a Vice President of Systems. This critical position will report to the Chief Information Officer. Responsibilities will include project management and directing the departmental managers for Database Administration, Quality Assurance, Technical Support, and Network Administration. Primary responsibilities will be to:
Create and manage project plans to determine budget, deliverables, deliverable dates and transition timelines. Assign, establish and oversee supervision of work tasks, approve overtime, and determine work priorities. Make temporary reassignments between work areas as needed. Approve or reject assigned work assignments and projects. Direct personnel recruitment, review job applications/resumes, oversee and interview applicants, and make hiring decisions. Approve position descriptions, oversee training and orientation of new employees on job duties. Oversee and conduct performance evaluations. Recommend achievement awards and write letters of commendation. Candidates will also have a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in information technology. This will include a minimum of 5 years of management experience in IT operations in the Property and Casualty insurance industry. You also will have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. The ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and or members of the business community. Also, you will have the ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Our client provides an excellent, family friendly working environment.
