Our client is a large health insurance company that is rated A+ (Strong) by Standard and Poor's. They are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as the Director of Pharmacy. This person will report directly to the medical director and will contribute to the fulfillment of our client's vision and mission by providing leadership and direction to the design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of "best practice" pharmacy services and programs across all product lines in an effort to provide "high value" products and services to their customers. The Director will oversee any and all vendor activities, such as a PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management), specialty Rx, and other vendors for components related to their Pharmacy Management Program. You will work with members, physicians, and pharmacists to ensure prompt response to their inquiries and timely resolution to their issues. Qualified candidates will have 5-7 years of demonstrated strategic leadership in a health plan setting along with experience with pharmacy chains, managed care plans, hospitals, or health systems. PharmD preferred, along with valid IA license. Clinical pharmacy background preferred in conjunction with working with a major insurance carrier or managed care health plan.
