Our client provides HMO, PPO, ASO, and Scheduled Benefit dental plans, vision, and Employee Assistance Programs. In the last 30 years they have grown to be an industry leader as a key ancillary benefits provider to Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, employee benefit trusts, and government agencies. They presently offer an opportunity to join their growing organization in their underwriting department. As an Underwriter II, you will be responsible for risk assessment of new group sales opportunities, and for the pricing of the dental and vision products offered by the Company. The position may also be involved in similar activities with respect to renewals of existing business. The position works closely with the Sales Support team as part of the development of client proposals, and with the Sales and Account Management teams in the development of consultative solutions for clients or prospective clients. This will include; responding to all new group quote requests on a timely basis. Ensure that all new group quotes are in compliance with the Company's underwriting guidelines, or if not, that any exceptions have been approved by the Company's senior management. Work with Account Executives to help determine the best pricing and product strategies for each situation. Work with Account Management teams to determine pricing and product strategies for renewals of existing clients. Support strategic relationship new group quoting and renewal pricing, as required. To be considered you must offer at least 3 years of experience underwriting group health or dental benefit plans. Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Solid mathematical skills are required to analyze products and assist with pricing development.
