They currently offer an opportunity to join their organization in a key management position, VP of Underwriting. In this position you will be responsible to coordinate the activities of the Underwriting department, provide direction to the department management staff, make or approve policies & procedures related to the application processing. You will manage three administrative departments: Document Management, New Business, and Underwriting. These different areas perform a wide variety of tasks and some are extremely technical. You will ensure that the application processing operation is extremely efficient; cost effective, operates within compliance requirements; and contributes to the overall profitability of each product while meeting and/ or exceeding quality & production services standards set for each individual area. To be considered, you need to offer around ten (10) or more years progressively responsible experience in the Health Insurance industry and have 5 years in the actuarial field. You must also have experience in managing re-engineering projects or streamlining efforts including working with business analysts or programming staff to develop functional requirements for programming/system changes or enhancements. You should have experience in developing staffing models, production programs, and quality programs. A MBA is required. An ASA or FSA is strongly desired. Competitive salary.
