Our client is a stable, financially strong company. Ward Financial Group regularly has named them as one of 50 outstanding property and casualty insurance companies in the United States. A.M. Best has consistently given them an "Excellent" or "Superior" ratings. They have an opportunity available in Cedar Rapids, IA to be part of their Underwriting team. As a Commercial Lines Underwriter you will determine acceptability of new submissions and quotations to produce profitable business for the Company. Maintain and develop satisfactory working relationships with the agency force and other Company Personnel. This will include:

Evaluate and process new submissions and quotations.
Process policy changes and renewals, making adjustments as necessary.
Communicate with agents as necessary to obtain needed information or respond to agents phone calls.
Review claim experience on existing policies or new submissions.
Order and review Loss Control surveys where appropriate, making recommendations as needed.
Travel in assigned territory, making agency visits.

To be considered you must have around three or more years of experience evaluating commercial risks. Base pay will depend on your actual experience.
