Midwest Product Engineering Manager  

Our client, a world class international manufacturer located in the Northern Twin Cities area, is searching for an experienced Product Engineering Manager to join their thriving organization!   

This position is responsible for all standardized product design and standards as they relate to geometry, materials, quality, part numbers, descriptions, revision history,  system maintenance, CAD, PDM, etc.  In addition, research and development of new standard products and new applications of these products is also included in responsibilities. This position relies heavily on the Emerging Products Team for more complex prototypes and fulfillment of specific new product orders while a new product is being phased into production. 

This position will work closely with the market to identify which products to design/ explore, and to work with Manufacturing to establish how and where the product can be produced in the most efficient manner. 

This position requires the ability to stay current on issues relating to the product and product enhancements including issues of the raw materials and their properties, issues supporting ability to define the product like CAD systems and data management systems, and actively and cooperatively works with the market and customers to identify needs and wants. 

This role is the organization’s reference point for questions regarding the product and will participate in developing and presenting product training materials, product literature, support documentation, catalog content, presentations, promotions, advertising materials, and other marketing related products with the help of the members and resources of the marketing department.

To be considered for the opportunity you must have the following qualifications:

  • An engineering degree required.

  • Leadership experience preferred.

  • Fabrication industry knowledge is preferred. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required

  • Strong public speaking experience is preferred.

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Project management experience preferred

  • GDT, DFMA, FMEA, DOE, and FEA training or experience preferred

  • Formal New Product Development process experience preferred
