Our client, a leading manufacturer involved in sheet metal fabrication, welding and finishing operations, is currently searching for an International Strategic Procurement Coordinator. This position will direct overseas procurement of complex steel and/or related engineering products based on engineering analysis of underlying engineering blueprints and of manufactured end products. Establishes standards, based on economic analysis of local country conditions such as availability of raw materials, logistics, tax treaties, and other variables, to be used in determining vendor selection. Negotiates terms and conditions of vendor sourcing agreements based on cost/benefit analysis and competitive bidding analysis. Travels to vendor to test, inspect, and analyze vendor’s manufacturing process to determine adherence to quality control standards and engineering tolerances based on company’s product specifications. Institutes process manufacturing improvements based on company quality control methodologies. The required background would include experience in purchasing and planning experience with an emphasis in international sourcing. LCC sourcing a big plus! CPM or CPIM certifications another huge plus! Strong background in developing strategy, sourcing protocols, and quality delivery methods. Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering required.
