Midwest Master Scheduler  

Our Eastern Iowa client is searching for a Master Scheduler to immediately join their expanding team!  The Master Scheduler is responsible for meeting monthly shipping budgets with a multi-plant delivery schedule.   Also, maintaining the schedule of product deliveries that achieves the organizational objectives for inventory and customer service.  This position has frequent interaction with marketing, engineering, manufacturing management, quality, customer service, and local plant management to ensure that product will deliver on time.  

Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Coordinating the Marketing Forecast with the Master Production Schedule. 

  • Reviewing customer orders on a daily basis, updating the Master Production Schedule to reflect any changes in requirements.

  • Supporting the Sales and Operations Planning process. 

  • Working closely with Product Managers to plan inventory levels taking into account extraordinary demand or trends in the marketplace.

  • Maintaining data in the ERP system data reflecting changes in manufacturing order parameters, inventory parameters, and future schedule of assigned product lines. 

  • Supporting the Continuous Improvement process and lean manufacturing principles by aggressively seeking ways to improve delivery performance, lower inventory requirements, and improve the planning/scheduling process. 

  • Participating in Kaizen events as needed. 

  • Coordinating with Purchasing / international logistics the delivery of materials to ensure that objectives are met.  

  • Monitoring available capacity and recommends changes to avoid excess inventory or adverse delivery to customer.

  • Closely monitoring and taking corrective action to maintain inventory levels.

  • Coordinating with Product Engineering to ensure that new product delivers to the marketplace on time. 

  • Assisting engineering to ensure that Engineer Change Notices are processed through production thus ensuring that Quality standards are met. 

Requirements for the opportunity include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience with international, multi-plant production scheduling and lean manufacturing are essential.  Certified in Production and Inventory Management required MAPICS experience a plus.
